As many of you might have already noticed, the art has on the walls has changed once again and Farm & Table! A few weeks ago, we said goodbye to the beautiful paintings of Krysteen Waszak and welcomed in our new local artist, Barbara Clark!
Barbara paints vibrant landscapes that echo the spirit of the Southwest. In 2006, she quit her job and began painting full time. You can learn more about the artist, and a look at her beautiful paintings on her website. “It turns out life is what you make it,” she says on her website’s biography. “The only one who never allowed me to paint for a living was me!” Of her paintings, Barbara says, “I paint outside as much as possible. The rest of the time I’m at the easel in few of the beautiful Sandia Mountains. It is my passion to continue to paint the best I can for the rest of my life.”
For us, though, the best thing about getting to show Barb’s work is that Barb was actually one of our “plein air painters” at last year’s Solstice celebration!
She answered our invitation to celebrate the longest day of the year by painting on our field…
and left with this lovely little painting of our farm:
Now that same painting is hanging in our restaurant for all to see! We think it’s so cool that we were able to be a part of Barb’s creative journey on multiple steps along the way. Come out to the restaurant and check out her work!
