“For Cherie Montoya, owner and president of Farm & Table, her rootedness and connection to the land in the Alameda Valley, where the restaurant is located, stretches back more than seven generations. Like many New Mexico families with deep histories, Cherie says, hers raised and farmed their own food. Seasonal cooking wasn’t a choice; it was a way of life. Cherie loves to tell the story of how the restaurant came about. Her father purchased the 12-acre plot to save it from being urbanized as a 40-house development.
