Summer Solstice in the North Valley

Farm & Table, Sol Harvest Farm and La Parada are celebrating the changing of the seasons in our amazing world this week, during the Summer Solstice on Wednesday the 20th. To mark the first day of summer and the longest day of the year, we’ll be celebrating from dawn ’til dusk on the farm, at the shop and in our restaurant. Come early for sunrise yoga. Be a part of the farm’s community harvest in the morning or go on a field walk with Farmer Ric in the evening. Write, paint, or find your own way to draw inspiration from the solstice all day long.

G R O WSol Harvest Farm

Yoga in the Field – 7am-8am:
Grab your mat and start your day with community salutes to the Sun led by Katja Lauterstein. Enjoy a glass of hibiscus mint tea provided by Farm & Table Restaurant after the practice.

Paint, Write, Create: 7am-2pm (Patio); 7am-dusk (Field)
Bring your sketchbook, your notepad, your easel or just your imagination. Come join Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, and take advantage of our outdoors to draw inspiration from the solstice. The field is open all day long, so spend the whole day with us, or just a few hours.

Community Harvest: 8am -10am
Join Farmer Ric to kick off the day’s harvest. Take home some of the fruits (or veggies) of your labor.

Sol Harvest Farm Stand – 1pm-7pm:
Stock up on fresh, local vegetables at our weekly Farm Stand & CSA Pack Up. We’ve got carrots, beets, rainbow chard and many more goodies coming out of the fields right now.

Evening Sun Salutation – 7:09pm:
To mark the exact time of the Solstice, Allisun Hull of Orange Yoga will lead us in some Sun Salutations before the field walk. No yoga mats needed, this practice will be accessible to all.

Field Walk with Farmer Ric – 7:30pm:
On the first evening of Summer, walk the rows with Farmer Ric. Learn more about his passion for growing local and ask questions about growing your own. Expect a lovely sunset to close out the night.
