Summer Solstice in the North ValleyThe planets rotate around the sun; the earth spins on its axis; the days get longer, the weather warmer; the sun shines down and nourishes us and our crops. No matter how you look at it – from the infinite complexity of our solar system to the way the sun seems to hang still in the sky on a hot summer day, like a Ferris Wheel paused at the very top – you have to admit, the world we live in is an amazing thing.

Farm & Table, Sol Harvest Farm and La Parada are celebrating the changing of the seasons in our amazing world this week, during the Summer Solstice on Wednesday the 20th. To mark the first day of summer and the longest day of the year, we’ll be celebrating from dawn ’til dusk on the farm, at the shop and in our restaurant. Come early for sunrise yoga. Be a part of the farm’s community harvest in the morning or go on a field walk with Farmer Ric in the evening. Write, paint, or find your own way to draw inspiration from the solstice all day long.

Look below or check out Sol Harvest’s website for a full list of activities. We welcome you to move, create and celebrate the solstice with us!
